I’d like to update as briefly as possible the list of goings-on that have seemed to add up on me these past weeks. A special thanks goes out to:
Karen at Find a Good Book to Read and Evan at The Muses’s Niche, the former for including Awake in the Mad World in her website’s fiction list, and the latter for publishing a recent discussion he held with me about the novel and writing in general.
To Quickie Book Reviews for helping promote my novel during the Christmas holidays.
Also, to Joyce Strand, editor of Strands Simply Tips, for accepting an article for publication. The piece’s title is Philosophical Sources: The “Me” In Our Work.
I’d like to additionally thank Engelia McCullough at her blog and website for accepting another article of mine for publication, a piece entitled, Please Love Me: How to Seduce Your Local Bookstore if You’re an Indie. Side note: the day after this was accepted for publication, a local bookstore emailed me to set a date for a reading with them. The coincidences and parallels in life, no?
And last but certainly not least, to Maple Street Book Shop, for setting January 16th, 2013 as the date for the debut public reading from Awake in the Mad World, where I’ll also be giving a talk about themes of the novel itself, and sampling from my new novel set here at home in New Orleans. I’ll update more here as the specifics and advertisements develop, and I’ll also post more information about other upcoming readings in the works in Alabama, California and here in The Big Easy.
Until then, Happy Holidays!
